The non-profit organization behind the Avalanche blockchain, the Avalanche Foundation, has announced that its eagerly awaited Avalanche Card is now operational. This Visa credit card allows users to make purchases using cryptocurrency.

Partnership with Rain

This innovative card, developed in partnership with Rain—a blockchain-driven card issuing platform—permits transactions with Avalanche tokens (AVAX), wrapped AVAX, and stablecoins such as USDT and USDC. It can be utilized for both online and in-store purchases at any establishment accepting Visa cards, according to a statement from the foundation.

The introduction of this new payment option reflects a growing trend towards integrating cryptocurrencies into mainstream financial transactions, providing users with greater flexibility in spending their digital assets.
