Coinbase Seeks SEC's Financial Records on Crypto Investigations
Coinbase Challenges SEC Over Investigation Expenses
After unveiling its own recent regulatory challenge, Coinbase is pressing the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to disclose how much it has spent on probing and taking actions against the cryptocurrency sector in recent years.
Through the submission of a Freedom of Information Act request, with the assistance of its contractor History Associates Inc., the largest crypto exchange in the United States aims to obtain detailed financial information about the SEC's activities in the digital asset sector. The request covers costs associated with investigations and enforcement actions over the past four years. Additionally, it seeks to identify the targeted companies, the number of personnel involved in these cases, and insights into the funding of the previous crypto enforcement team leadership.
